Chris M asked: I love the actual data gathering part of marketing research. I love doing surveys and using the data from those surveys to make charts & graphs. Most importantly, I **** public speaking. I have 5 years of college under my belt and I feel as though my public speaking skills have gotten even worse. Even talking in front of small groups of say 3-5 people is hard for me.
My question is this: Are there any jobs in Marketing Research that don’t require public speaking? Thanks a bunch.

ivybear98 asked: I am a very creative person who loves science but has grown tired of typical bench work. I will be completing my PhD this spring and I’d like to break into marketing and/or advertising, with a long-term goal of working for a pharmaceutical company in their marketing department. I have an excellent science background. I have some hand-on experience in marketing, advertising, and PR for groups I volunteer with (college alumni group and sorority), but I have no formal training in marketing and my experience is rather spread out over the years. Any advice on how to break into a marketing/advertising job? I know I’ll have to start at the ground and work my way up and I’m very willing to do it–how do I convince potential employers to take a chance? Thank you for all answers!

Sam T asked: I am a recent graduate looking for a marketing job. I have an interview for a marketing assistant role at a bank but I don’t want to be working in the financial services industry for my career.
If I work for a bank for the next couple of years - would it be hard to change industry in my next job?

JaDaWi asked: Whats the job title, and what I would be doing?
I know there are different areas in which marketing covers, such as: research, analysis, creative department, and so on. I would love for someone to elaborate on these, and more, areas in which marketing covers. What is the income of someone in the creative department. I would love to have some involvement in the creative process/ advertising sector or the production process. I know that people with certain personalities would do better in certain fields in marketing, but is it possible to learn the skills needed to excel in these areas?
Also, what does a marketing agent do?
