31 Dec 08 Why are all the lastest movie ads claiming that they are the #1 movie in America?

I swear I have seen three different movies claim they are number 1 in America in their ads. All I have to say, is what the hell? Is this some new marketing tactic I am unaware of? I think that Hulk, Iron Man, Get Smart and Prince Caspian have all made the claim so far. Probably more, though.
